Monkeys, Polar Bears and White Tigers

This is the first trip to the Zoo for Didi and Chloe. The weather was a worry before the trip, raining almost every day for the last few weeks. It was a cloudy day, and it turns out to be the perfect weather strolling through the park.

We spend some time near the entrance area looking at monkeys and otters, before we proceed to visit the animal of the moment, the white tigers. The tigers were hugh, espeically the dominant male, which i think is called Omar, was very restless and constantly ploughing around his territory. More stories on the white tiger incident can be found here.

After wondering around the Australian outback, where we Kangaroos and Emus were on exhibit, we manage to catch the 430 feeding of the Polar Bears. The central of attraction is Inuka, the tropical born polar bear. We were treated with a fish catching demo, which was very interesting. Didi took a pic with a full size Inuka replica before we left. Yes, he is that big!!!

It was getting late after visiting the Zebras, Giraffes and Lions, we ended our trip at the Tropical Crops Plantation. You might wonder what is this plantation doing in the Zoo? Yes, it is a plantation with familiar tropical plants like sweet potato, kang kong, ceylon spinach and many more. It was a refreshing end to a very enjoyable trip to the Zoo.
